Do I need a mental health diagnosis to go to therapy?

The answer is no. There are no laws that require you to have a mental health diagnosis in order to see a therapist. However, mental health professionals generally agree that it's helpful to have a better understanding of what is happening right here in your life before seeking professional help. The same goes for depression and other mental health issues: Talking through these feelings with someone who understands them can help you feel more prepared for therapy when you get there.
