Great question! Therapy sessions are about 50 minutes long, giving therapists 10 minutes to prepare for the next client. This also gives you and your therapist some extra time to wrap up your thoughts so the session doesn't have to end abruptly.
The first session is usually longer, though. This is called an "intake session," where they need more time to collect information about who you are and why you want to attend therapy. Intake sessions are generally 1 hour and 20 minutes.
